The Week’s Tech News in Review and a Healthy Dose of Strong Bad
April 9, 2010 - By Justin E. Gehrke
It’s Friday. For many, that means the end of the work-week. For geeks, techies, and gadget junkies, it also signals the end of another week’s worth of tech news drama. This week we heard endless talk of the Apple iPad and iPhone OS 4.0. The iPad and iPhone news discussion only ramped up with the release of Appcelerator Titanium, which promises developers a way to create apps both faster and more effectively.
Not to be left out of the mix, Hewlett-Packard launched a new, sneak-peek video of its “iPhone Killer”, the HP Slate. Hope was given to millions of iPhone users who couldn’t get their hands on an iPad, with Geek Shui Living’s publication of the iPhone to iPad Mini Mod guide (which of course shouldn’t be followed). Sure there was some news about a possible makeover of Twitter, yet another lawsuit against Google, the imminent death of the DiggBar, China spying on the Dalai Lama. Oh, and, of course, there was more endless chatter about the iPad’s features, apps, and general miraculousness.
While the tech news certainly won’t stop, the end of the work-week seems like a good time to distract ourselves. With that in mind, may we suggest a healthy dose of Strong Bad. If you aren’t familiar with the animated creations of Homestar Runner, you’ve been missing out. We’ve been tuned into them, since back in 2007, when we first saw the episode called “Virus”. It amuses and educates us on the consequences of the dreaded computer virus. While there are scores of other great ones on Homestar Runner’s Official website, we consider this one a modern classic.
