Would you jump ship for a Verizon iPhone? Tell GSL why and win a $20 iTunes gift certificate.

Over the past months (okay, years), we’ve heard of the fabled Verizon iPhone. Will it ever happen? Well, the rumors continue to swirl regarding a potential loss of exclusivity by AT&T and a CDMA version of the world’s most popular smartphone. If the results of a recent Morpace survey reflect reality, the debut of a Verizon-branded iPhone 4 could shift the balance of the entire wireless industry.
According to the survey’s results, 29% of the 1,000 respondents are somewhat or very likely to buy a Verizon iPhone, if it were to become available. More significant is the fact that 65% of the ‘somewhat to very likely group’ are currently AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile customers. Another interesting statistic reveals that 34% of AT&T iPhone 3GS owners haven’t upgraded, based on the potential for a Verizon iPhone 4 to be released. Though it’s not specifically mentioned, one also has to wonder what percentage of those surveyed are current Android and BlackBerry device users. If the general reaction to a Verizon iPhone is in keeping with the results of this survey, a market shift toward Apple’s flagship product could be more significant than a carrier shift and directly affect future earnings relating to the sale of Google and RIM-powered smartphones.

I would be interested in a VZW iPhone just to see what specs VZW and Apple would change in their version versus the current iPhone 4 version on AT&T.
I currently use an iPhone 4 on AT&T. I would not switch to VZW unless given a very appealing offer. AT&T is excellent for me. Not a single dropped call, excellent data speeds. I even switched from T-Mobile to AT&T to get the iPhone 4.
I might be interested. Just because ATT sucks and VZW might be better. Hopefully this is an educated response.
Absolutely! Well, as long as there is no sign of VCAST or any VZW bloatware installed. I want the iPhone as is from Apple on a network that can provide real service and features.
I would jump ship in a heartbeat. Not a big fan of AT&T coverage and reliability.
I would jump ship with a bathing suit! I am a follower of the iPhone and it’s like follow the leader. I’m the follower and Apple iPhone is the leader. I am curretly on AT&T with the iPhone 4. I want to see how to see the iPhone will be on verizon. Sounds exciting and tempting to do so I am most def going jump the ship. But on the other hand I can’t swim as well so I’ll take the submarine.
Currently just using Boost… hell yes I’d switch to Verizon for an iPhone as long as it doesn’t have any Verizon bloatware on it. Verizon has the best coverage.
Luckily I am already with the best network out there, Verizon, so I wouldn’t have to jump ship.

Would I purchase the iPhone? Hell yeah. Why? Because I always want the newest toy out there. I would love to see the iPhone come to VZW.
currently AT&T iPhone 4 & AT&T iPhone 3 (waiting for white) — would not switch. We’ve had Verizon and they are worse than AT&T for where we use our phones. Waiting for all of the poor saps to move to Verizon so that AT&T gets less congested and my network / reception gets magically better.
I don’t have an iPhone because I dislike ATT. ATT is who I have now only because I am on a family plan so I have no reason to change. If there was a Verizon iPhone I would be there in a heartbeat! Verizon has great coverage where I am. =D
I wouldn’t cross the street for an iFone and would rather wipe my butt with a cheese grater than have VZW as my cellular provider…
